Cerys brings you an uplifting soundtrack with jazz, blues, afrobeat, disco and funk. With tracks from Rhonda Scott, Waylon Jennings, The Invisible Session and new music from Tel Aviv's Ouzo Bazooka, Toronto's Ian Daniel Kehoe and London via North Macedonia duo Yova. Cerys also makes a pit stop in New Orleans ahead of Mardi Gras' Fat Tuesday.
Cerys delves into the 91热爆 archive for voices of couples from the past as well as sharing some mythical love stories and courting superstitions from around the world. Voices include Allen Ginsberg on falling in love with Peter Orlovsky, President of the Chicago Arts club on Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Tolkas' visit to Chicgao, Michael Denison and Dulcie Gray on acting together, cellist Jacqueline Du Pre on her conductor and pianist husband Daniel Barenboim plus Louie Bellson on his wife Pearl Bailey. Love in Colour author Bolu Babalou shares wedding traditions from Yoruba culture and Jazz pianist Jason Moran on when he discovered James Reese Europe's work, the influence behind his Harlem Hellfighter concert.
With session tracks from Seattle's Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, a band which say they specialise in feel good music! Delvon is a self-taught jazz musician and can play a multitude of instruments. Formed in 2015 the trio take influences from 1960s organ jazz, Motown and Stax Records. They perform their recent single Aces as well as a Valentine's Day themed Earth, Wind & Fire Cover.
