Angie Thomas is a bestselling young adult author and her novel Concrete Rose is set in the fictional setting of Garden Heights, 17 years before the events of her first novel, The Hate U Give, and tells the story of Maverick Carter as a seventeen-year-old, who has to change his ways after discovering he has become a father.
The Hate U Give was a New York Times bestseller, which was adapted for the screen in 2018. Angie's second novel On The Come Up was a previous Radio 2 Book Club choice.
