It was her 5th studio album, recorded at Compass Point Studios in Jamaica under the production helm of Alex Sadkin and Island records' founder and president Chris Blackwell. The album entered the top 10 in five countries, and became her highest-ranking record on the US Billboard mainstream albums and R&B charts. Six singles were released from the album, including "Pull Up to the Bumper" and "I've Seen That Face Before (Libertango)".
