Today, singer, songwriter and Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith joins Mark to share his 'First, Last and Everything' - that鈥檚 the first record he owned, the most recent one he鈥檚 enjoyed and the record that means 鈥榚verything鈥� to him.

Paul also chats about Maximo Park鈥檚 forthcoming seventh album 鈥楴ature Always Wins鈥� which comes out next month. The album title alludes to the debate around Nature vs Nurture and whether or not we actually have any control over who we are. The indie rock band formed in Newcastle twenty years ago and came to prominence in the 2000鈥檚 with hits including 鈥楢pply Some Pressure鈥� and 鈥極ur Velocity鈥�. Now a three-piece, the band started writing their new album last summer. They recorded it remotely, between Newcastle and Liverpool with the album鈥檚 producer Ben Allen working in Atlanta.
