From Dial M for Murder, Rear Window, North by Northwest to The Birds, the so-called Master of Suspense continues to transfix and unnerve audiences around the world.
The programme hears from several of those still living who worked with him as well as from a galaxy of Hollywood stars awed by his talents. Among them is Dame Helen Mirren who played the director's wife in a 2012 Hitchcock biopic.
Some of Hitchcock's most famous scenes, including the shower scene from Psycho, are analysed by top filmmakers and international movie critics.
