Metal Week: With Duma

We take a trip to Kenya to find out about the Nairobi metal scene, with grindcore band Duma.

All week Mary Anne will be exploring the music that can be defined by one word, heavy. Taking trips to the experimental metal scene in Japan, the drone music communities of America and Australia and the grindcore scene in Kenya. Today, Mary Anne discussed Kenya鈥檚 extreme grindcore and hardcore scene with duo Duma. Duma members Martin Khanja and Sam Karugu are former members of bands Lust for a Dying Breed and Seeds of Datura. They formed Duma together in 2019.
