Live from the Lammermuir Festival (1/4)

Chlo毛 Hanslip and Danny Driver perform contrasting violin sonatas by Beethoven plus Prokofiev's 5 Melodies in a special Radio 3 collaboration live from Lammermuir Festival online.

The first of four concerts live from Holy Trinity Church, Haddington, in a special collaboration between Radio 3 and the Lammermuir Festival who will stream the concerts simultaneously online. Chlo毛 Hanslip and Danny Driver team up to perform two contrasting Beethoven violin sonatas - the sunny D major sonata of his youth, which is classical in form and clearly shows admiration for his teacher Haydn and for Mozart, and the serene and beautiful A major sonata of 1812, written with the distinguished French violinist and teacher Pierre Rode in mind.

Presented by Kate Molleson.
