Tribal Gathering was in many ways the birthplace of the huge outdoor rave events that have become a global phenomenon. The event itself ran from 1993-97, by which time the world had caught up, and the advent of a legal battle which meant the 1998 event was cancelled.
Some of the line ups read like a who's who of electronic dance music, a golden period that could never be repeated.
One of the key players at the time and indeed a headliner of the first event is DJ Slipmatt, who led the way on the hardcore scene. Here we replay a mid 90's mix he recorded for Monki on Radio 1 in 2013, which perfectly captures the unique vibe of that time!
