Stuart revisits the electronic artist鈥檚 mournful dark ambient album Ravedeath, 1972. The Canadian artist鈥檚 sixth album is based on a single day's worth of recordings made in a church in Reykjavik, Iceland. A strange hybrid, Hecker used a groaning pipe organ to lay down the foundation for tracks and then later digitally processed the organic sounds with foreboding synth washes in his studio. The haunting and sometimes claustrophobic album was inspired by the idea of sonic decay and music threatened by technology.
