Migrants crossing the Channel, Verose and Kamala Harris

Qasa asks, how much of an issue is it to you that people are crossing the Channel to come into the UK illegally?

First, Qasa Alom gets a round of the latest coronavirus news from our reporter Dil Neiyyar. After that we’ll hear about a new census that’s being carried out by the India League to find out whether British Indians feel the policies in this country address their needs. We’ll speak to one of the researchers at the University of Oxford, Dr Nikita Ved, about it. Then Qasa wants to know, how much of an issue is it to you that people are crossing the Channel to come into the UK illegally? This comes after a lot of media coverage over the last week of boats and dinghies coming from Calais with people on trying to enter the UK. Plus, our reporter Anisa Kadri has spoken to children’s charity Childline, after they said the recent Black Lives Matter protests has led to a number of calls from young people concerned that their parents might be racist. Qasa is joined by singer Verose to talk about his latest single and how being Asian has helped him break into the mainstream. And we’ll get the latest reaction after Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden named Kamala Harris as his running mate for US election 2020 - the first black woman and South Asian American in the role.
