Ep 345 - Matt Haig joins Shaun
Shaun is joined by author Matt Haig in the final hour to chat about his new novel The Midnight Library. Plus, Matt Everitt joins with the latest Music News.
Shaun gives another caller the chance to tell their Claim to Fame on air in Small Claims Court and welcomes Matt Everitt who has the latest Music News. Plus, there is a new Liked and Shared track from JW Francis and another Edinburgh performer talks us through what they 'should' have been performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and how the cancellation of the largest arts festival in the world has affected them and what performance plans they have during August and the rest of 2020. Today it's Karen Koren who runs the Gilded Balloon venue.
Plus, Shaun chats with friend of the show author Matt Haig in the final hour about Matt's new novel The Midnight Library. The Midnight Library is Matt’s first adult novel since How to Stop Time in 2017 and is described as his version of It’s a Wonderful Life. Matt Haig has sold over a million books in the UK and his books have been translated into 40 different languages. The film rights for his novel How to Stop Time have been bought by Benedict Cumberbatch’s production company, with Cumberbatch attached to star. And Matt’s children’s book A Boy Called Christmas is being made into a film by the creators of Paddington for cinema and Netflix, for release next year. Him and Shaun discuss all this, alongside the issues of mental health during lockdown in the final hour of the programme.
