While Liverpool's finest Echo and the Bunnymen kick off the Parallel Universe with a mega tune, followed by Robert Wyatt and The Nightingales.

This year also sees Marc Riley, himself, unceremoniously booted out of the Fall, Prince cancelling a UK gig to concentrate on what would become the Purple Rain tour and, stop the press, Adam Ant is seen withdrawing a couple of books from a public library.

While that sinks in, do you know what band juggled sausages, had a pet rat and played a game called the Wheel of Misfortune - well you will if you tune in this evening.
