Under the alias Daedelus, Alfred Darlington has been active in electronic music for the past 20 years, releasing on labels such as Ninja Tune, Brainfeeder, Dome of Doom, and many more. As a performer Daedelus has played 1,000+ live shows spanning 6 continents, at venues ranging from the seminal Low End Theory to festival mainstages such as Coachella. Recently they also became an assistant professor for the Berklee College of Music in Boston as a founding faculty member of the new EDI (Electronic Digital Instrument) program, an artist in residence at S.E.T.I., and released their 22nd album What Wands Won't Break. Of this new album they say: "Here is my stripped back raw rhythms that only momentarily dawdle in melody. It's the distentions of polite sources into genre specific tempo to make sounds I've cobbled together live, but never committed to record previously. Let the mystical be plain to see, but only implied, as the only whisper on this loudly album.鈥�

'Pinch an inch' is Tom sharing 30 minutes of music from the John Peel archive, which lives at his family home in Suffolk. He grabs a random inch of vinyl from the 7" and 12" inch sheds. It's a fascinating voyage of discovery, and what better way to find new old favourite music.
