Clean Break is a women鈥檚 charity which believes in the power of theatre to change lives. It produces ground-breaking theatre which puts women鈥檚 voices at its heart and creates lasting change by challenging injustice in and beyond the criminal justice system. Through theatre workshops and projects in prisons and the community which build confidence, resilience and wellbeing, Clean Break transforms the lives of women who have experienced the criminal justice system or are at risk of entering it.聽聽

Women who are caught up in the criminal justice system have a range of complex and gender-specific needs, including drug/alcohol use, domestic violence, mental distress and housing.

Through theatre-based activities and one to one support, Clean Break helps women build the wellbeing, skills and agency to transform their lives and play a more integrated and active role in our society. 鈥淭his is the most incredible, life-changing experience. In this current crisis the demand for support has increased. Clean Break is providing a support line, care packages and broadband devices to help women access therapy and theatre courses online and meet their essential financial, medical and social needs.
