Speaking out about racism, bus drivers and ‘Ladies First’

Ankur asks, have you ever worried that speaking out about racism will affect your career?

First our reporter Dil Neiyyar gives us the latest coronavirus news. Then Ankur asks, have you ever worried that speaking out about racism will affect your career? This comes after actor, John Boyega, delivered an impassioned speech during a ‘Black Lives Matter’ demonstration in London’s Hyde Park. He spoke out against the killing of a black man by a police officer in the USA and said he “doesn’t know” if he’ll still have a career after making his views known. After that we hear from our reporter Nalini Sivathasan about bus drivers’ fears that their lives are being put at risk as lockdown restrictions ease. Recent figures show that people in some jobs, like bus drivers, are more at risk than others of dying from the virus. For this week’s ‘Kids in Lockdown’ segment, we hear from brothers Reyan who's 9 and Anay who's 6-years old, to tell us what they’ve been doing in lockdown. And we have our feature ‘Ladies First’, where our all-female panel discuss news stories that affect the everyday lives of British Asian women.
