Stuart has a rare chat with the enigmatic experimental Liverpudlian ensemble. Original members Les and Paul unpick the band鈥檚 journey from 1980鈥檚 performance art project to an obscure phenomenon that鈥檚 still going strong thirty years later.

In honour of founding member Florian Schneider鈥檚 death earlier this month, we celebrate Kraftwerk鈥檚 breakthrough minimalist electronic 1974 album Autobahn. Inspired by Germany鈥檚 first motorway, the record is a melodic synthetic symphony to the possibilities of road travel.

Also featuring a Belgium electric guitar quartet, Ethiopian jazz and industrial electronic music from Manchester.
