Social distancing, Aya Hachem and ‘Ladies First’
Qasa asks, is it unfair to blame the government for people not social distancing?
First Qasa gets a round-up of the latest coronavirus news from our reporter Dil Neiyyar. After that we hear from the father of 19-year-old Aya Hachem, who was shot and killed in Blackburn. Ismail Hachem says the family have been left devastated and want to move out of the area. Then we’ll find out how people in India are dealing with Cyclone Amphang. The last “super cyclone” in 1999, killed thousands of people and now because of lockdown restrictions, mass evacuations will be difficult to conduct.
Plus Qasa wants to know, is it unfair to blame the Government for people not social distancing? There are reports that people have been gathering on beaches and questions are being asked whether they are social distancing or not. The Government has given people the freedom to be responsible and use their "common sense" but is that the right strategy for dealing with coronavirus? And we’ll have our feature “Ladies First”, where our all-female panel discuss news stories that affects the everyday lives of British Asian women.
