Pink Floyd's Nick Mason

Mark and Stuart hear from Pink Floyd drummer and founder member Nick Mason about his latest live album featuring early Pink Floyd songs

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.

Today they hear from Nick Mason, drummer and founder member of legendary band Pink Floyd. Nick's latest band 'Nick Mason鈥檚 Saucerful Of Secrets' came together with the idea of playing early Pink Floyd songs. The band - which also features Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Lee Harris and Dom Beaken - went on tour in 2019 and played Floyd music that pre-dates the famous album 鈥楧ark Side Of The Moon', including songs that haven't been played live for decades. Indeed it was the first time Nick had played live since Live 8 in 2005. Their sold-out show at London's Roundhouse in May last year was recorded and filmed and is just about to be released as an album as well as a film. Nick talks to Mark and Stuart about those early Pink Floyd records and working with his new band.
