A short documentary charting the intimate relationship between fishing and Gaelic.
'S e fiolm aithriseach goirid a tha ann am Muir ar n-athraichean anns a bheilear a' d猫anamh sgr霉dadh air a' cheangal eadar iasgach agus G脿idhlig. Air a chl脿radh ann am Beinn na Faoghla agus ann an Uibhist a Deas, tha am fiolm a' sealltainn air mar a tha G脿idhlig na p脿irt air leth cudromach den d貌igh anns am bi iasgairean a' d猫iligeadh ris an 脿rainneachd mhara. Thathar cuideachd a' coimhead air mar a tha seo fo chunnart air sg脿th cur an s脿s nan Roinnean D矛on Mara a bhios a' cur stad air iasgairean bho bhith a' dol do chuid dhe na l脿raichean iasgaich as fhe脿rr ann an Innse Gall.
Muir ar n-athraichean is a short documentary charting the intimate relationship between fishing and the Gaelic language. Filmed in Benbecula and South Uist, the film explores how Gaelic forms an intrinsic part of fishermen鈥檚 engagement with the marine environment, and how this engagement is under threat from the proposed implementation of Marine Protected Areas banning fishermen from some of the Outer Hebrides鈥檚 most productive fishing grounds.
