Officers take action against a cowboy builder using customers’ money for overseas holidays. He took £220,000 from eight families, leaving them unhappy with his workmanship.
Enforcement officers are checking hygiene standards in Oxford takeaways, while in Studley, Warwickshire, they crack down on a butcher’s shop cheating customers by claiming their meat is British when in fact it comes from overseas. Trading standards officers discover Spanish pork, Danish gammon and Dutch chicken all labelled as 'best British'. They also find beef being sold as Aberdeen Angus when it isn’t.
