Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust
We are a national charity that supports young people aged 8-24 in rebuilding their confidence after cancer. When treatment ends our work begins as for many young people, simply picking up where they left off before their diagnosis isn鈥檛 possible.
Dervla鈥檚 story
Dervla's life was knocked off course when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Her independence dissolved as cancer affected her physically and mentally. With the support of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust she is sailing towards a bright future.
The great unknown
After treatment, young people remain vulnerable as it comes at a time of rapid physical, emotional and social development. Many lose their confidence and independence, and often feel lonely, isolated, depressed and anxious.
Transformation at sea
Through sailing and other UK-wide adventure activities, the Trust supports, inspires and empowers young people to embrace their future with optimism after cancer treatment. Their confidence grows as they rediscover what鈥檚 possible again.
