Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast

Today they host a special wintry show. All the tracks played today have a winter theme or connection. With an atmospheric chilled vibe, perfect for a cold Sunday morning.

Plus, as a special Christmas treat, they are joined by award-winning folk group The Unthanks. The group - headed up by Tyneside sisters Rachel and Becky Unthank and Adrian McNally - have been part of many Radcliffe and Maconie Christmas celebrations over the years, performing their song 'Tar Barrel in Dale' and this year is no exception. The song was written by Becky and Rachel's father, George Unthank, about the New Year鈥檚 Eve fire tradition at Allendale, Northumberland.

Originally emerging from the group Rachel Unthank and the Winterset, The Unthanks were formed in 2009. The last decade has seen them release a string of critically-acclaimed albums including 2015's 'Mount The Air' which won best album at the 2016 91热爆 Radio 2 Folk Awards. Earlier this year they released a trilogy of albums inspired by poetry, focusing on three female perspectives across history...writer Emily Bront毛, World War One poets, and British Hull fishing worker Lillian Bilocca.

Today they chat to Mark and Stuart about their latest projects and perform a beautiful a cappella rendition of 'Tar Barrel in Dale.'

With tracks from artists including Laura Marling, Marvin Gaye, Fleet Foxes, Kate Bush, Nick Cave, Love Unlimited and Doves.
