It’s the penultimate episode of the year and first off, the boys make a case for the things that matter in ‘Why Should I Care?’ Why should we bother about giving Scotland some help in the National League playoffs and the plight of Falkirk.
In ‘Insert Managers Name Oot’ the team strap themselves into their rocket and circle the Blackhole of Punditry, as they debate which managers are in danger of swirling into the vortex. Jim Goodwin and Mark Wilson are perilously close to a career on the airwaves, while Darren Young and Neil Lennon seem safe and secure.
Robert Borthwick then visits the ‘Club Shop’ to look at all the Christmas-related tat football clubs are flogging this winter. Would you like an Aberdeen penguin for £3 or a Rangers lanyard?
Robert also provides some palate cleansers, including Jack Ross’ long, long, long walk and Craig Telfer’s weekly obsession.
In ‘See Ya Later Debater’, Joel Sked argues that ‘no pyro = no party’ and that more pyrotechnics should be flung around at games, not less, while Craig Telfer suggests that football games should be 30 minutes a half. Handily, Craig has also invented some new stopwatch technology in order to achieve it.
The team then compare Scottish football superstars in ‘Batter Royale’. It’s two Hibs talismans in Russell Latapy and Scott Allan, then two Rangers goalscoring machines in Ally McCoist and Alfredo Morelos. Fight!
It’s Scottish Cup weekend and what better way to celebrate it than looking back over some of the biggest shocks this century in ‘Big Cup, Wee Teams’. From Clyde ruining the famous Celtic debuts of Roy Keane and, er, Du Wei, to Annan banging four goals past Hamilton, it’s big team embarrassment galore.
It’s ‘Bank or Bust’ and Craig Fowler is trying to climb off the bottom, with a three-way tie for the top baller’.
Outside the studio, we celebrate Glasgow’s place in football history in ‘Theatre of Dreams’, while former Motherwell player Chris Cadden discusses dealing with the pressures of the sport in ‘Mind of a Footballer’.
Then Carnivores perform the heaviest ‘Last Minute Winner’ to date with their song, ‘Scottish Football’.
