Slow Sunday: Part 1

Mark plays a selection of laid back tunes for Slow Sunday and chat to singer-songwriter Hannah Peel, who also provides a special guest mix.

As part of 6 Music's 'Slow Sunday', Marks take things easy with a beautiful blend of laid back music and chat.

As the clocks go back and everyone gets an extra hour back, today's show celebrates music with a relaxing, slower, dreamy vibe.

Today singer-songwriter Hannah Peel is Mark's special guest. Hannah, who is known for her own atmospheric songs and compositions, puts together a unique mix - created especially for Slow Sunday - of some of her favourite relaxing music by a range of different artists. She also chats to Mark about the tracks she's chosen and why, as well as discussing her own current projects.

Most recently Hannah has been collaborating with poet Will Burns. Their album 'Chalk Hill Blue' blends electronica with spoken word to evoke the chalk landscapes of Southern England. Also recently, Hannah's soundtrack to 2019鈥檚 'Game Of Thrones: The Last Watch' was nominated for an Emmy in the category: Outstanding Music Composition For a Documentary Series Or Special (A Dramatic Score).

Also on the show today, Mark plays some of their favourite chill out tracks and low key musical gems. Plus friend of the show, music news reporter and presenter of Radio 3's Unclassified series, Elizabeth Alker recommends some suitable tracks for the Slow Sunday theme.
