Music as Therapy International
Music as Therapy International is dedicated to making the unique and life-enhancing benefits of music available to as many vulnerable, marginalised people as possible. We train caregivers in the UK and overseas to use music to overcome the damaging isolation caused by disability, trauma and mental illness.
Beyond words, beyond borders
Music is a universal language, enabling us to work in diverse contexts, cultures and communities around the world. As a powerful means for self-expression, it gives people a chance to communicate their thoughts and feelings, and form connections with others.
Working with people at the heart of care
Caregivers like Audace (left) are crucial to the wellbeing of vulnerable people all over the world. Our training gives them the skills, confidence and resources to use music to improve care and share what they have learnt with others locally.
Music can be a lifeline
Music can offer a lifeline to isolated people wherever they live and whatever their challenges. For those stranded in time by failing memory or dementia, music can join a fragmented existence together, giving people a sense of who they are in the here-and-now.
