Is a possible Brexit deal about to happen? Leo Varadkar and Boris Johnson say they can see a pathway to a possible agreement.
Could a Brexit agreement be about to happen? Yesterday Boris Johnson and Leo Varadkar both said that they could "see a pathway to a possible deal". Last night, the Secretary of State Julian Smith told 91热爆's The View programme that it gave him great heart that the UK and the Republic were trying to find what he called "an accommodation". And he addressed one criticism levelled at Mr Johnson's proposals -- that a deal could, in effect, be blocked by the DUP. So no community will have a veto over NI's post Brexit future. That's what the Secretary of State told 91热爆's The View last night. But Number 10 sources say he hadn't been briefed on the the detail of Boris Johnson and Leo Varadkar's talks. So who should decide on future arrangements for Northern Ireland? And will Northern Ireland be staying in the Customs Union? Stephen spoke to 91热爆 NI's political editor Mark Devenport, UUP MLA Doug Beattie, TUV leader Jim Allister and Alliance Party MLA Stephen Farry.
Also on the programme, Ian Pailsey MP reads from notification he received from Joe Bamford on Wrightbus deal.
And, Alex Kane is a regular on the show and many of you will have heard the story of Alex growing up. It is the topic of this weeks Stories In Sound on 91热爆 Radio Ulster - titled Before I Was An Orphan. He spoke to Stephen this morning.
All that and more on the biggest show in the country...
