Stuart features music to guide you through death to rebirth. Songs from the Bardo features the inimitable Laurie Anderson reading English translations of the Tibetan Book of the Dead to music composed by Tibetan musician Tenzin Choegyal and Jesse Paris Smith, daughter of Patti Smith. The Tibetan Book of the Dead was written in the 14th century and seeks to guide you through the experience of death into the bardo - the state between death and the next rebirth. Stuart catches up with Jesse Paris Smith from her home in New York to find out more.

Jazz singer Patti Waters recorded an influential album in 1966 on a tour of American colleges and tonight Stuart features several tracks throughout the show. Her work has influenced Yoko Ono and Diamanda Galas with her avant-garde approach and openness to extended techniques.

Also in the programme, new music from planetary scientist / composer Salami Rose Joe Louis and wonky synth pop from a new outfit called 5K HD.
