Drummer, vocalist and songwriter Alex Neilson chats to Stuart about his experience of working creatively to overcome trauma. Following the sudden death of his younger brother, Alex plunged straight into writing as a way to bring some sense of order back to his scrambled thoughts. His latest solo album under the moniker Alex Rex brings together songs written during this time and we also get a sneak preview of something from his forthcoming record too.

Fans of 1980鈥檚 synthesiser music can rejoice as Stuart features the underground cult album Synthesist by Harold Grosskopf, playing several tracks from his (now ultra-hip) futuristic spacey synth-pop. Plus there鈥檚 new music from alt-folk artist Alasdair Roberts and a live recording from the virtuosic vocalist Hayley Fohr as Circuit Des Yeux.
