Would you deny your child vaccinations on religious grounds? Qasa is asking this after figures from Public Health England showed that fewer Muslim parents allow their children to get the flu vaccine than parents of children from other faiths. The main reason for refusal was because nasal vaccine contains pork gelatine but from this winter, all primary school children will need a vaccination, as part of a project to help lower flu levels. After that we hear from Munadiah Aftab, a climate change activist who works for the charity Islamic Relief. She tells us why she thinks climate change activism is inaccessible to Asians and minorities. Then Qasa speaks to LGBT campaigners Sameer Poselay and his father Lak, about their ‘Out and Proud’ campaign. They hope will encourage more parents to support their gay children. Plus, this week’s ‘Big Debate’s Little Debate’ comes from Zenab Shaprui, who wants to discuss whether men expect women to do all the tidying within the workplace.
