America's Abortion War
Hilary Andersson reports from Alabama, one of 12 US states currently attempting to overturn the constitutional right to abortion.
Panorama reports from America's Deep South, the frontline in the battle over abortion rights. President Trump has called abortion 'the execution of children' and now 12 US states are trying to push through new laws that challenge American women's right to abortion. Alabama's abortion ban, the most extreme in America, would criminalise abortion providers and prevent even women who have been raped from aborting. At one of the last abortion clinics in Alabama, reporter Hilary Andersson talks to doctors and patients about what the ban would mean to them, and meets campaigners who believe abortion is evil. As the debate becomes ever more polarised, Hilary heads north to hear from those defending what they see as a constitutional right and meets one of America's most controversial abortion practitioners, who carries out third trimester abortions.
