Mary Anne is live from Festival Square for this year's Manchester International Festival. The two week festival is a celebration of art, theatre, music and more. 6 Music will sit right at the heart of this year's extravaganza, as we celebrate everything the festival has to offer.

We'll be chatting to the Festival's artist in residence, the legendary Laurie Anderson who is debuting a new piece called 'To The Moon'. 50 years after the lunar landings, 'To the Moon' is 'an ambitious, dreamlike VR experience that takes us on our own lunar exploration, with an accompanying installation featuring film, images and music.

We'll also catch up with Underworld's Karl Hyde, whose 'Manchester Street Poem' project tells the stories of local residents who have experienced homelessness in their own words.

Singer, Actress and muse to David Lynch - Chrysta Bell - will be talking about her key role in the festival, Gal Dem will be dropping by to tell us about their game changing online magazine and Kings of Manchester LEVELZ throw down their Made in Manchester Mix.
