Bafta award-winning screenwriter Jimmy McGovern, the moral values we expect in our leaders, and the beneficial impact of a good hug.

BAFTA award winning screenwriter and producer Jimmy McGovern discusses how his Catholic faith has influenced his work and the extent to which Robbie Coltrane’s character in Cracker was an autobiographical exploration.

We visit Carrongrange High in Grangemouth, a school for pupils with additional support needs, to meet the cast and crew of this year’s summer musical ‘Beauty and the Beast’.

As Conservative candidates for leadership set out their stalls, Cathy is joined by the journalist and Director of the religion and ethics think-tank Ekklesia Simon Barrow and Mona Siddiqui, Professor of Islamic and Interreligious Studies at the University of Edinburgh, to discuss what society should know about the values, beliefs and standards of people taking leadership positions.

What’s in a hug? We consider the effect of physical human contact with Rebekka Mikkola, a practitioner and co-founder of Nordic Cuddles who specialises in cuddle therapy and Suzanne Zeedyk, a psychologist who researches early years’ experiences.
