All over Scotland, workmates are baking up a storm creating cakes and makes for charity bake sales with the aim to make lots of money for good causes, and to compare their colleagues’ efforts to their own. So, over ten episodes we turn gentle ribbing and rivalry into full-scale workplace warfare. We visit ten very different workplaces to watch four colleagues compete against each other to be the company’s official baking champ.

From distillers to vets, language schools to lawyers, not only are these amateur bakers determined to make amazing cakes and bakes, they really want to be able to brag to their workmates.
We follow each competitor at home as they create their cakes, buns, bread or savoury pies and pasties. Then they will be revealed at a bake sale to the critical eye of their colleagues and, more importantly, to our judges.

Each week our series judge, Nichola Reith, will be joined by a local judge to taste, debate, berate and celebrate each of our competitors’ efforts. At the end of the bake sale, we will reveal who the judges have declared the workplace winner and worthy of the Flour Power trophy.

In this episode, we’re in Moray at the Forres branch of Moray Coast Vets. Veterinary surgeons Mark and Johanna, veterinary nurse Anna, and student veterinary nurse Kristin are dusting the rolling pins and raiding the larder to create the perfect cakes and makes with all eyes on the Flour Power trophy, and bragging rights over their workmates. Will Mark’s Scotch pie complete with locally sourced beef be any match for Johanna’s deep zesty lemon and blueberry cheesecake or Kristin’s Vanilla and Almond cake?

Anna is the favourite to win and so she is opting for a Victoria sponge to wow series judge Nichola Reith, who is all about the taste, and today’s local judge Fraser Gow who heads up a local baking dynasty. He is all about making everything from scratch.

Once all the workmates’ creations are revealed, tasted, judged and scored, just who will have the bragging rights to use at will around the surgery?
