The partner of the murdered journalist Lyra McKee accuses political leaders of failing Northern Ireland.

The partner of the journalist Lyra McKee, who was murdered by the New IRA in Derry last month, has accused political leaders of failing Northern Ireland and says she told the Prime Minister Theresa May that - in her view - she was "derelict in her duties" by saying abortion and gay marriage were a devolved matter. In an emotional interview with Alex Thomson on Channel 4, Sarah Canning said she spoke to the Mrs May, the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the Secretary of State Karen Bradley at Lyra's funeral in Belfast. And she challenged the Prime Minister directly to legislate for same sex marriage in Northern Ireland.
