Shaun looks ahead to the 6 Music Festival and Matt Everitt chats with festival headliners The Good The Bad & The Queen and John Grant. Plus, Funky Frank is here in the final hour

Shaun kicks off the 6 Music Festival weekend by handing over 6 Music output to his Uncle Frank who has 3 Funky Friday Floor Fillers for us from his very own trunk of funk. Plus, Matt Everitt chats with festival headliners The Good The Bad and the Queen and John Grant who plays tonight as the excitement grows ahead of the first bands on stage later this evening.

As well as this - Jenny Lewis is today's Album of the Day and our poet Murray Lachlan Young has a Liverpool inspired poem ahead of this weekend's 6 Music Festival. As well as this - Shaun looks back on the terrible news of the death of Liverpool band Her's who died, along with their tour manager early hours of Wednesday morning. Their record label Heist or Hit described them as "one of the UK's most loved up and coming bands". The duo had recently released their debut album and had been featured by 91热爆 Introducing.
