There are estimated to be 127,000 people with Parkinson's in the UK, while in Scotland there are approximately 12,000 with the condition.
We hear of the impact of Parkinson's on individuals and their families, and also how the condition has in ways given many a renewed focus to their lives. We hear of the work of some celebrity Parkinson's patients, in particular Michael J Fox, Muhammad Ali and Billy Connolly. Specific support groups annd specially designed classes, focusing on movement and creativity are also making a difference.
