Brown Hare disease - in Wales the brown hare has undergone a marked decline since the 50s and now a deadly disease could be devastating. The virus, which is thought to have made the leap from rabbits , has been confirmed in two cases so far - one in Dorset and one in Essex - but researchers fear it's spreading across the聽UK. 聽Any sightings of diseased hares can be reported to them 銆赌
Reintroducing Eagles - this week we were treated to the news that golden eagles, after an absence of around 200 years, might once again be seen flying over Wales. Two different projects are currently underway, one is Wilder聽Britain as seen on the Countryfile Winter Diaries - they're hoping to reintroduce specifically the golden eagle in Snowdonia, claiming it could be as early as next year. But we speak to the project leader of an entirely separate which is investigating whether the landscape of Wales could support the reintroduction of both the golden and white-tailed species - but it could be sometime yet. 銆赌
A rare orchid - there are only two places in the UK wherecurrently grows, in the fens of East Anglia, and at the Kenfig Nature Reserve near Bridgend, but now efforts are being made to bring it back to the sand dunes of Pendine in Carmarthenshire銆赌 - and specifically to an area on the MOD firing range.銆赌
