The First World War ended exactly 100 years ago, at 11am on 11th November 1918. Stephen takes your calls about your family members who belonged to the British armed forces.

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day exactly one hundred years ago, the guns fell silent.

Today the chimes of Big Ben rang out eleven times.

They were followed by two minutes silence.

19 million people died in the First World War

Of those, more than 8 hundred thousand British soldiers were killed, together with 100 thousand civilians.

Today we also remember those who fell in the Second World War, as well as the 12 thousand British Servicemen and women killed or injured since 1945.
