Never Records in Kansas City

Mary Anne Hobbs catches up with New York artist and musician Ted Riederer, who has travelled to Kansas City as part of his Never Records project.

Mary Anne Hobbs gets the latest from Never Records in Kansas City, and the first 'Slow Readers Book Club' meeting takes place!

Artist and musician Ted Riederer has taken his pop-up record shop to Kansas City, to cut live performances from the public, straight to vinyl using his mobile record-making lab.

The aim of the project, which is part of the Open Spaces Kansas City Arts experience, is to show the power of music and record shops to unite, educate and uplift communities through recorded sound.

Ted Riederer has previously delivered us reports from Never Records in Amman, Jordan, and joined us for Record Store Day in 2014, cutting his interview to Mary Anne straight to vinyl as it was taking place!

Also on the show, we regroup for the first 'Slow Readers Book Club' meeting! Mary Anne's recent guest, the author Benjamin Myers, has penned the first book in the club.
