The Job Hunt
Charting the efforts by brothers Kieron and Gareth to land job interviews in the tough work climate of the north west, which has one of the worst job markets in the UK.
Kieron, 20, and his brother Gareth, 19, would do anything for full-time work. But they are in the wrong place at the wrong time: the job market in the north west is still one of the worst in the UK, especially for young people.
Eventually Gareth lands an interview - his first ever - and the whole family rallies around to make sure it goes well. Kieron helps with the tie, and his parents drive him to the interview. Afterwards, the big retailer tells him that they will telephone him on Friday... if they decide to give him the job.
The Job Hunt is a powerful up-close slice of life as a jobseeker: long walks up steep hills to distribute CVs, greyhound breeding and online gaming to 'stay sane', and a special solidarity between two unforgettable brothers.
