Cardiff City legend Peter King
Peter King tells how he fought for his life in the Cardiff City cause at the top level.
As Cardiff City hit the Premier League, veteran club forward Peter King recalls how he fought for his life the last time the club graced the top level of British football. King played in the Bluebirds' last match in the old First Division without realising he and his roommate were suffering from tuberculosis. While his friend never played again, King recovered in a sanatorium and went on to play more than 400 games and score more than 100 goals - a remarkable double that's unlikely to be beaten. He then became a prison officer, ran 61 marathons and took part in "ultra" racing, once running 142 miles in 24 hours. He talks to Peter Jackson about health, endurance and loyalty.
