Those in action include three-time world and double Olympic 800m champion Caster Semenya, with the South African looking to claim back-to-back victories in Monaco after winning last year's race in a then-world leading time of 1:55.27. Men's high jump world champion Mutaz Essa Barshim and women's world pole vault title winner Katerina Stenfanidi are also competing, with Stenfanidi facing competition from 2018 world indoor champion Sandi Morris in what is expected to be a high-quality field. Ivorian Marie-Josee Ta Lou claimed victory in Monaco over 200m 12 months ago but is racing over 100m this year. She won silver medals over both sprint distances at the 2017 World Championships.
