The helpline run byÌýthe housing charity Shelter Cymru says it received "hundreds and hundreds" of callsÌýafter the formula that governs social rent increases allowed landlords to raise rents by as much as £300 a year fromÌýApril.
Those calling the shots on rent rises say they have to balanceÌýthe needs of their tenants againstÌýthe 60,000 people in Wales who are waiting to get into social housing.
But withÌýincomes for manyÌýstagnating,ÌýÌýothers are beginning to ask if affordable social housingÌýremains affordable.
