Pembrokeshire Early Potatoes have been grown in the county since the mid-1700s and is considered a treasured product. Known for their distinctive sweet and earthy taste, the are a seasonal crop, picked using traditional methods. So it's a busy time of year for the producers, not least for Peter and Gina Smithies at , located on the coast, just outside Marloes. They have been growing early potatoes for 16 years alongside their other farm enterprises of traditionally bred cattle, sheep and cereals. Rachael Garside meets the Smithies聽who, as tenants of the National Trust, also farm with biodiversity and conservation benefits in mind.
