Episode 5
The six remaining home cooks must first impress the judges with the perfect chocolate pudding, before competing in a challenge using a key ingredient.
Claudia Winkleman presents the series looking for Britain's best home cook. It is week five, and Mary Berry, Dan Doherty and Chris Bavin test the remaining six home cooks on their finest dishes. The cooks have two and a half hours to prepare their ultimate chocolate pudding, designed to showcase their individual personality.
It is then time for the cooks' challenge, which tests their inventiveness and creativity with a key ingredient. The cooks with the best chocolate from challenge one are given the advantage by the judges as they determine the key ingredient in the next round, choosing between aubergine and tofu. The cooks must then invent one dish celebrating the central ingredient and have one hour to win over the trio of judges and avoid the elimination round.
Based on their performances in these two challenges, the judges decide who is safely through to next week and who must cook again. The judges have chosen a classic oriental dish that requires precision, care and skill to execute correctly. At the end, one more cook must leave the group, with just five fighting on for the title of Britain's best home cook.
