Lauren is joined in the 6 Music Live Room by the electronic musician, producer and Ivor Novello-nominated film composer Jon Hopkins, who releases his new album on Friday.

Titled Singularity, it's Jon's first solo effort since 2013's Immunity (though he has been otherwise engaged, collaborating with the likes of Brian Eno and King Creosote).

The album has been shaped by his experiences with meditation and trance states, flowing from techno to transcendent choral music, and from solo acoustic piano to psychedelic ambient.

The album will begin and end on the same note - from "the opening note of foreboding to the final sound of acceptance" - and is intended to be listened to in one sitting, as a complete body of work.
