06/04/2018 - 'Stand there and don't move'

When it comes to measuring a room, Sean's job is to hold the end of the tape.

When it comes to measuring the length of a room, Sean's job is to hold the end of the tape. Gerry says in the joinery trade, that is known as 'holding the stupid end'. Sean put up a piece of wood for the curtain wire so got his wife to hold it above the window. He noticed it was too long at either side. So he sawed a piece off each end. Kieran once shared a stage with Hank Locklin. Sean thinks Gerry Anderson did the same and remembered Hank's jacket which had a painting of an Irish cottage on the back. Sean is thinking of organising a big night. Instead of the bus run. Colette and John had a request played but it was a drinking song and they don't even drink so they got Hermans Hermits instead. If a bat and ball costs a total of one pound and ten pence and the bat is one pound dearer than the ball then you would think the bat on its own would cost a pound. Music from Alvin Stardust, Bay City Rollers, Hank Locklin, Ringo Starr, Dave Clark Five and more.
