Episode 6
Catriona MacPhee and Donald MacSween present the best of the action from day three of the International Sheep Dog Trial in Aldsworth.
The final programme of the series brings us the climax of the International competition; the Supreme Championship. As always, there are more sheep and the course gets bigger, but for some handlers this course is like nothing they've seen before. A colossal field with hills, trees and a bridge makes this a challenge for even the most experienced of dogs. A fantastic run from both Ricky Hutchinson's dogs, but a high scoring start for Sergio Perello and his dog Jim is enough to stir some nerves. Can Ricky hold onto first position?
Also in the programme, we visit the Galashiels wool depot where 1.5 million fleeces are processed each year. We also visit the inaugural International Four Nations Gundog competition at the Scottish Game Fair where we learn what skills and characteristics are required of a good gundog. Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales battle it out to be the first to win the competition.
