Fireman Matt has a passion burning deep inside him to live in Australia, but so far his wife Jessica has poured cold water all over his desires for a move.
When Jessica Choux moved to England from France and got married to Matt Parsons, she thought her life would settle down in England. She soon discovered that her fireman husband harbours a passion for moving to Australia, and having 15-month-old Stanley hasn't dampened it.
At one time, Jessica was almost convinced to give it a go, but life took a serious turn and a series of tragic events brought any plans to a halt. Matt lost three close relatives in a short period of time. Yet what initially put paid to the Australian dream had also brought it back sharply into focus as Matt realised that life is short and he needed to seize each and every moment.
The recent addition to the family, Stanley, has only made Matt more determined to go. But Jessica feels she has a lot more to lose if she goes. She has a good job that she loves, a loving support network to help with baby Stanley and loving parents - if not close by, frequent visitors courtesy of the cross channel train service from France.
In a trial week in Melbourne, they check out where they might live, what jobs they could get and whether they would be able to afford the lifestyle Australia offers.

Parsons family update
The Parson family are still living in Harpenden, Hertfordshire! They still love听their home despite being wowed by all the Aussie houses.听 They have听now extended into their loft to allow for another bedroom and bathroom.
A further two weeks in Australia made Jessica fall in love with the country and they are now both desperate to move! The reality though, is that with the visa changes, a move isn鈥檛 on the horizon听just yet. Sadly听neither of them qualifies for a visa now. For now, they are staying in the UK and keeping an eye on visa options.
