Elizabeth arrives at Brookfield looking for Jill, and meets Pip. Pip has a consultation appointment for a termination on Thursday. Elizabeth wonders if she's changed her mind about telling Toby, but Pip would rather keep things simple. Later, Jill asks Elizabeth about a strange phone call from Lily yesterday. Apparently she thought Elizabeth was taking Jill to the dentist? Elizabeth confesses to telling a white lie. She was sorting out a surprise for the twins' birthday. Elizabeth sees Pip again, and discovers that she's reconsidering her decision not to tell Toby.

Jennifer takes Peggy into Borchester for a haircut and some last minute Christmas shopping. But Peggy's more concerned about wedding presents. She still has no idea what Justin and Lilian want. And even Tony, who's agreed to be a witness, doesn't seem to know about the arrangements. Jennifer hastily changes the subject. She's concerned about Peggy's health, especially when she nearly faints in the salon. Peggy confesses that she's been losing sleep over Christine's financial woes. Assuming that Christine still has plenty of money, Jennifer wishes she wouldn't keep bothering Peggy about it. Peggy's glad Christine can confide in her. Peggy intends to have a proper talk with Lilian about the wedding. That's what Jennifer intends to do herself. She's been putting off talking to Lilian for long enough.
